With its lush rolling hills, dramatic coastlines, and mythical landscape, it's no surprise that the Glens of Antrim have been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, drawing thousands of visitors every year.

Nine narrow valleys, ten if you ask the locals, radiate out from the Antrim Plateau towards the sea. Carved by glaciers during the last Ice Age, these glens weave through some of Northern Ireland's most spectacular scenery. For many people, they are the picture of Northern Ireland's traditional way of life, rich in culture and history, and nestled within breathtaking landscapes.

The Glens form an important geographical link between Ireland and Scotland, with just a narrow channel separating the two. For centuries, people, language and traditions have traveled between the two lands, connecting them in place names, music, and storytelling traditions.

Tucked in these narrow valleys are tales of local folklore and mythology: stories of the mysterious fairy folk, heroic tales of the Warriors from an ancient kingdom, old castles, holy wells of the Saints renowned for their healing properties, and encounters — if you are lucky — with supernatural beings in mystical forests.
